    This is the pyruvate oxidase from Streptococcus pneumoniae R6. It catalyzes the formation of hydrogen peroxide by oxidizing pyruvate in the reaction: pyruvate + Pi + O2 --> acetyl-P + CO2 + H2O2.

    Removal of a PstI site very near the 5' end with PCR primers.
