Sequences BBa_K152004_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This operon provides the full set of bacterial open reading frames necessary for beta carotene production. crtE,B,I,Y coding regions from Erwinia uredovora each with a rbs preceeding the open reading frame. This synthetic operon could be made by ligating together the starter biobrick containing CrtE cut with SpeI and PstI, then ligating in the next XbaI/PstI cut fragment. There is no promoter or trancription termination signal on this construct.

Notes

To save time, the cloning was done in parrallel. CrtE was ligated to B, and crtI was ligated to crtY. CrtIY was then cut and ligated to CrtEB to yield CrtEBIY.

Source

This operon is made from biobricks BBa_K152001 - BBa_K152003 and the biobrick BBa_K118005 which was sent to us by iGEM Edinburg.
