Description

This construct is designed to test the reporting capabilities of our Cre Reporter construct. We hope to build the construct (pLac-lox-RFPrev-TT-lox-RBS-Tet), which should give Tet resistance in the presence of Cre Recombinase. However, if the lox site upstream of the Tet resistance gene prevents the gene from being functional, then our reporter construct will not work.

Notes

This part is in plasmid pSB1A2. We plan to also build the part in the insulated plasmid pSB1A7 to eliminate the effects of read-through transcription.
