Description

Coding sequence for periostin, a protein which is over-expressed in damaged myocardial tissues and cardiac development. We are hoping to clone this protein into E. coli and use it to promote generation of healthy heart tissue after cardiac arrest.

Notes

The wild-type periostin gene included several cut sites found in the bio-brick prefix and suffix. We did our best to eliminate these cut sites while conserving the amino acid sequence. These changes are detailed below:
