    Description

    This is the OmpF promoter (R0084) ligated to a GFP reporter (I13504).

    In typical e.coli cells, the activity of Omp promoters varies with media osmolarity, and baseline expression is observed in these cells. However, when transformed in an EnvZ knockout strain (such as CP919, part number BBa_V1012) there should be little or no expression.

    This part was designed to serve as a test reporter for part M30109, the light sensor.

    Notes

    The exact functionality of the registry's Omp promoters (R0082, R0083, R0084) isn't well documented
