Sequences BBa_I737010_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This is the logic circuit of the 2007 University of Calgary project, and so requires the light sensor (M30109) to function. After addition of AHL to the media, the cells will be responsive to 650 nm light. When they sense light, they will begin expressing GFP (E0040), and will continue to make GFP until and AHL in the media breaks down. In the absence of either AHL or light, the bacteria should do nothing.

Notes

The protein LuxR is present in the system twice; it should be expressed first upon exposure to light, and should then activate expression of yet more LuxR. This allows continued expression of GFP even when the light is removed.

Source

This circuit was put together using existing biobrick parts.
