    Description

    This construct uses two hybrid promoters. pLsr/cI drives expression of the LuxI and Mnt genes. The promoter is designed to respond to repression by LsrR, which can be derepressed by phosphorylated AI-2, and to repression by lambda cI. pTet/Mnt drives expression of the LuxI and cI genes. It is designed for repression by the Tet repressor, which can be derepressed by aTc, and by the Mnt repressor. LuxI is a sythase that produces AI-1.
