Sequences BBa_K1109006_sequence (Version 1)

Description

LqsR and LqsS are the genes encoding response regulator and sensor kinase components of the legionella quorum sensing (lqs) system, respectively. This composite part contains a constitutive promote region BBa_K823008 in the upstream these genes. When this composite ???lqs response unit??? is cloned into E. coli, the bacteria can express two components of the Legionella QS i.e; cell surface sensor kinase and cytosolic DNA binding component response regulator constitutively.

Notes

The LqsR and LqsS genes have illegal restriction enzyme cutting sites inside their coding regions. So, BBa_K1109002 composite part was amplified with primers having SpeI cutting sites, and cloned into the downstream of a constiutive promoter in the pSB1C3.

Source of the subparts are the 2013 DNA Distribution Kit and pNT-1 plasmid(Cellular Microbiology 9(12):2903-2920, 2007.)
