Description

This part contains lactose inducible expression cassette (BBa_K314103) and farnesyl-phosphate synthase from yeast [Erg20] (BBa_K849001). The transformants with this device can produce farnesyl-pyrophosphate (FPP) and geranyl-pyrophosphate (GPP) from isopentenyl-pyrophosphate (IPP) and dimethylallyl-pyrophosphate (DMAPP). However, because GPP is a by-product with synthesis of FPP, the volume of GPP is so smaller than those of FPP.
