    Description

    This part encodes the FAT-2 delta 12 desaturase from C. elegans and uses oleic acid (C18:1Δ9) as a substrate and produces linoleic acid (C18:2∆9,12). FAT-2 has also been reported to be able to desaturate fatty acids of lengths C14 to C18 (Xue-Rong Zhou et al., 2011).

    Notes

    We used primers to add prefix and suffix to the coding part.
