Description

CMV eukaryotic promoter

Notes

CMV Promotor is a viral regulatory element to mediate strong expression of the downstream gene sequence. CMV stands for cytomegalovirus. Because of its strong activity in most cells its a very popular choice to mediate expression of a foreign protein.

- W. Bruening, B. Giasson, W. Mushynski1 and H. D. Durham (1998): Activation of stress-activated MAP protein kinases up-regulates expression of transgenes driven by the cytomegalovirus immediate/early promoter, in Nucleic Acids Research, 1998, Vol. 26, No. 2

Source

CMV promotor was obtained by PCR by using the BioBrick [[Part:BBa_J52038]] as template.
