Description

This part is consist of a Pea transit peptide and the coding sequence of beta-carotene ketolase originally derived from
Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Beta-carotene ketolase realizes the convertion of zeaxanthin to astaxanthin, the final step of astaxanthin biosynthesis. Sequence of beta-carotene ketolase has been optimized for better expression in Orazy sativa.

Notes

A pea transit peptide has been functionally fused to the BKT cds. The BKT codon has made some optimization for expression in rice. An Pst I restriction site has been mutated by site-directed mutation.

Original sequence can be accessed from Genebank, Genebank accession: AY860820.1.
