Description

This gene codes for the enzyme copalyl diphosphate synthase 1(SmCPS1) in the plant Salvia miltiorrhiza. The enzyme is a part of the biosynthesis pathway of Tanshinone, a compound used to treat cardiovascular diseases.

Notes

Two extra sticky ends are added to the gene when it is cloned via PCR. They are needed so that the part can be loaded onto other vectors.
