Description

Bcr is a multidrug efflux pump that belongs to the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), native to Escherichia coli. When overexpressed in E. coli, it is known to confer varying degree of resistance to several antibiotics, including bicyclomycin (selection-capable); tetracycline (8-fold increase in MIC*); kanamycin (4-fold increase in MIC*); fosfomycin (4-fold increase in MIC*); and acriflavine (2-fold increase in MIC*).

*: Compared with wild type

Notes

'GTG' start codon has been mutated to 'ATG'. Stop codons at the end of the coding sequence have been changed to 'TAATAA'.
