Monomeric red fluorescent protein (mRFP1) is a derivative of the red fluorescent protein cloned from Discosoma coral (DsRed) (1). The successful use of mRFP1 in Aspergillus nidulans has previously been described (2). This part does not contain a stop codon.

This part was designed for the Plug'n'Play with DNA assembly standard (RFC 80), therefore this part contains tails at the 5' and 3' ends as shown on the figure below. Please notice that mRFP1-module is not the same as BBa_K678030 or BBa_K678032.
