Sequences BBa_K731400_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This composite part was designed to construct a working CysDes gene under the control of an inducible promoter: the presence of IPTG inhibits the LacI repressor protein binding to the LacO operator; in this way it allows the RNApol to bind to the Ptac promoter and trascribe the gene of interest.
In this case the gene of interest is a Cysteine Desulfhydrase, an aminotransferase that converts cysteine into pyruvate, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide.

Notes

LacI+LacIq promoter is an autonomous part (K731300) also designed by our team.

Source

LacI+LacIq promoter comes from pET-21b plasmid.
CysDes gene comes from the genome of Treponema denticola.
