    This part produces glutathione S-transferase (GST) protein with a histidine tag attached to the end. The protein produced binds to nickel beads.

    Notes

    In the design of this part our major difficulty was trying to add a very small peptide sequence into the pGEX plasmid.

    This part was produced by biologically adding a previously chemically synthesised peice of DNA sequence known to bind nickel on to the end of the GST protein.
