    Description

    Luminescence expression, S-ribosylhomocysteine lyase, autoinducer 2 (Al-2) synthesis. LuxS is acid-inducible and functions in quorum sensing. Specifically, E. Coli luxS is capable of inducing V.harveyi luminescence. The products of LuxS are homocysteine and A1-2 precursor DPD. Key player in the study of quorum sensing amongst bacteria.
