Sequences BBa_K1717173_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This part is a composite of an IPTG-inducible promoter with RBS (BBa_J04500) and a custom-synthesized KERATINASE US expressing plasmid. The coding sequence for Keratinase US was originally isolated in Bacillus, we have now optimized for expression in E.coli. To do this, the signal peptide has been changed.

Notes

The sequence was form Bacillus, a gram-positive bacteria, and in order for the Keratinase to be secreted properly in E.coli (a gram-negative bacteria), the signal peptide had to be changed.

Source

The source for the KerUS coding sequence is :http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/A0A059PWB6. The IPTG promoter was found on the registry.
