Description

The first step in the beta-oxidation pathway involves the conversion of acyl-CoA to enoyl-CoA. This process is catalyzed by acyl-CoA dehydrogenase FadE. Its action results in the introduction of a trans double-bond between C2 and C3 of the acyl-CoA thioester substrate. We assebled FadE with PfadR (BBa_K861060) hoping it will only be overexpressed when fatty acids concentration is high.
